Did You Know?
Sheep have rectangular pupils, a split upper lip, and no top teeth.
The pupils in the eyes of a sheep are rectangle-shaped. This allows for a wide field of vision. Their vision is perfectly designed to keep an eye out for potential predators or sheep stealers.
Sheep Stealers
The ultimate sheep stealer is Satan. See John 10:10.
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy ..." (John 10:10 - KJV)
As the father of lies and the original murderer, he uses intelligent beings to help promote His lies. See John 8:44.
Lesson:
God has provided a way that we can discern or see potential predators—false teachers who want to steal His sheep. See 1 John 4:1 and Matthew 24:5.

The apostle John counsels us to test the spirits to see whether they are from God. One key to knowing who is a true teacher and who is false teacher is to examine the pictures of God that they present to us.
"... Every intelligent being who comes from God will proclaim that Jesus Christ has come to earth in our humanity and perfectly revealed the Father, but every intelligent being that does not proclaim that Jesus is the perfect revelation of the Father is not from God."
(1 John 4: 2, 3 - The Remedy)
Here is a classic example of those who did not see God in spite of the evidence presented to them.
"Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you." See John 10:24-26 (KJV)
The Promise:
Jesus, the Good Shepherd invites His sheep to hear His voice—and not another, to receive His life and to have life more abundantly.
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." (John 10:27-28 - KJV)
