Heart to Heart: Thinking About Wrath
by Everton Guthrie.

If nothing angers you, then you are neither human, humane or inhumane. Maybe you're an automaton? Both God and men have things that they hate.
God hates only sin, in any dose, because it harms His beloved creatures.
Man abhors sin also, when it is not his specialization and is in others, but he loves it for his own entertainment.
God does not retain his indignation however. He puts away His grief at evil in order to forgive, heal and restore. He only destroys when all means of reconciliation are expired.
We on the other hand, harbour wrath that creates mayhem in our lives and environments. Our reasons may be right but our responses are 'dreadful'.
The evidence shows up all around us. Just look at the products that we create out of our anger; We can't handle anger. God asks us to leave it to his balanced mind and wise handling. He says to us, "Thou shalt not avenge" (see Leviticus 19:18). He also says, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay" (I'll deal with it). See Romans 12:19 and Dueteronomy 32:35.
If He forgives, you can be satisfied that He bore the cost himself, just as He forgave you. But however it works out, He will not forget.
May grace be with you and your peace with God be multiplied beloved. See 1 Peter 1:2.
